MARKETING
AND AUDIOVISUAL TRANSLATION

TINE REICHERT • GERMAN LINGUIST (B.A.) • ENGLISH & SWEDISH TO GERMAN TRANSLATION

About.

ALL THINGS GERMAN.

As an academically trained linguist with 10 years in the translation industry, I specialize in bringing your marketing copy, media and audiovisual assets alive.

Being brought up in London, Stockholm and Northern Germany not only gave me a profound understanding of my source languages, but also the ability to spot cultural nuances and transfer them into my mother tongue.

After finishing my degree in Empirical Linguistics and German Studies, I have been working as an inhouse translator, editor, proofreader and PM for German translation agencies where I gained extensive experience in technical and marketing translation as well as DTP and media design.

Today, I’m supporting my clients in localizing landing pages, case studies, blog posts, newsletters, e-learning templates and many more.

My work in audiovisual translation is focused on voice-over script creation for wildlife and art documentaries, subtitling of entertainment shows as well as preparational dub translation.

Genealogical research is a another field I’m working in, mainly supporting US citizens with German ancestry in their family research and translating German civil status documents into English.

When not translating, you can find me in the garden, doing analog photography while keeping the weeds and my corgi at bay.

Experience.

LINGUISTIC NUANCE
AND PRECISION

When it comes to translation, I prefer to take to rocky road: Transferring messages, emotions and intentions rather than just words can be exhausting – but it’s worth it.

01. GENERAL MARKETING.

Whether it’s B2B or B2C: Meeting your target audience at eye level, choosing the right register and finding the perfect tone of voice is what I do since 2014.

  • Customer Relationship Management
  • Enterprise Resource Planning
  • E-learning
  • Product launches
  • Industry news

02. TECHNICAL MARKETING.

After years of working closely with clients from the manufacturing industry, I learned to master the balance between linguistic nuance and technical precision.

My fields of expertise:

  • Gearboxes
  • Frequency inverters
  • Diaphragm pumps
  • Military radar applications
  • Early-warning systems
03. AUDIOVISUAL.

Unidiomatic translations and butchered jokes can ruin a viewing experience just as much as a bad internet connection. With a background in German and media studies and 34 years as a movie fan, I make sure your viewers can fully immerse into your productions.

My fields of expertise:

  • Wildlife documentaries
  • Art documentaries
  • True Crime

TRANSLATION AND DTP FROM A SINGLE SOURCE.

With German using considerably more and longer words than English and Swedish, layout issues are inevitable when translating into German. Whether it’s a presentation in PowerPoint, a diagram
in MS Word or just subtitling best practices: I make sure your texts and videos get the right look.
